Bass player Tim Abdellah Fuson grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he has played in a number of pop and North African bands. In the 1980's, Tim was a member of the Square Roots, singing and playing upright bass at clubs and colleges up and down the West Coast. Since the early 1990's, Tim has specialized in North African music, playing Oud, Gnawa Gumbri and Percussion. He is currently a member of Kabyle singer Moh Alileche's ensemble, and was for years a memeber of Yassir Chadly's Marhaba Morrocan band. |

| Tim has also performed with jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, rai singers Cheb Nassro and Chaba Zahwania, and rock band the Young Fresh Fellows. In addition to performing, Tim is pursuing a ph.D. in ethnomusicology at UC Berkeley. He has conducted research on Gnawa music in Moroco since 1995, and is currently writing his dissertation on the music of the Gnawa lila ceremony. |
