John Waller is a musical chameleon.  This SF
native enjoys playing a diverse selection of
percussion instruments including
drum set, djembe, conga, doumbek, tombak,
tapan, surdo, frame drum and various
tambourines.
He recently was on a nationally released CD from
group RebbeSoul, playing on the classic song Avinu.
He played many times at the Freight & Salvage in
Berkeley including flutist Viviana Guzman's world
music ensemble.
He dressed in a morrocan robe and turban at the
Rennaisance Pleasure Faire in 2001 to play for
Suhaila Salimpour's Bal Anat.   
He has played many concerts featuring Early
Music from the Byzyntine Empire and music from
the Roma diaspora.
John has played in many musical settings and can play multiple styles.  Bands and music groups:
Groove.Org, JazzInc and all percussion group, Thwak!!  He has played drum set with the former Grateful Dead
and Tubes & Zero keyboardist Vince Welnick...and drums & percussion with many more groups including
RebbeSoul,
Common Tongue, Rumeli, Moe Alileche, The Dunes, Tomas Michaud, Viviana Guzman, Tim Rayborn, Aldoush
Alpanian,
Tony Khalife, Matthew Grasso, Alias Smith, Congolese artist Borrina Mapaka, David Hykes and Indian sitar
master, Habib Khan among others in jazz, rock and world music.  
He has performed for many radio and TV shows and has travels ocross the USA to play at Festivals and special
events.
